How enrollment works

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Call (609) 877-9377 or email info@colcacademy.net. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. If your schedule runs longer, ask about extended care — there is a separate enrollment form and an additional fee. We will tell you what comes next.

  2. 02

    Tour the room

Come see the classroom your child would join. You will meet the teachers who run it and watch the room in use. Bring your questions about the day, the schedule, and extended care. Call (609) 877-9377 to set a time.

  3. 03

    Enroll and settle in

Complete enrollment, then plan a first week that suits your child's routine. If you need extended care, the hours, the fee, and a different enrollment form can be explained at the front desk. Every child settles at their own pace. We will help you take it step by step.

What to have ready

Most families gather the enrollment forms, a health form and immunization record, emergency contacts, and the names of everyone allowed to pick up their child. Bring a photo ID for each authorized pickup person so we can release your child to them. Ask the front desk for the current list.

Pack a full change of clothes that stays in your child's cubby, labeled with their name. Add outdoor gear for the season, nap items if your child rests, and one small comfort object. Write your child's name on everything.

Before the first day, agree on who drops off and who picks up, and tell us at least one day in advance of any change. Plan the drop-off so you can park in a designated spot and sign in at the front desk kiosk. Tell your child's teacher how you would like to hear about the day.

The first weeks

The first days often start shorter, with a favorite toy or blanket from home. A teacher greets your child by name at the door and stays close while you say goodbye. You can call to check in. Each child takes their own time.

At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did, ate, and rested, and how they played with others. Ask anything you want to know, even the small things. Most children settle within a few weeks. If your child needs more time, we will tell you.

What families ask

What about tuition?

Ask about current rates when you call or tour. They depend on your child's age and schedule.

What ages do you take?

Children from K2 to K5.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. A tour is how most families decide, and children are welcome to come along.

What should my child bring on the first day?

For a first day, families usually pack a change of clothes in a labelled bag, a comfort item if your child uses one, and any items the teacher asks for. Write your child's name on everything. A small backpack helps your child carry their own things and find them again at cubby time.

How do you handle the first weeks?

The first days often run shorter, with a familiar object from home along for comfort. A teacher greets your child by name and stays close while you say goodbye. At pickup, teachers tell you how the day went.

What does a typical day include?

The day is built around arrival, play and learning, meals and rest, outdoor time, and pickup. Our Kindergarten and Preschool program runs 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with extended care available before and after. Exact times for your child's age group can be confirmed when you enroll.

How will I know how my child is doing?

Teachers talk with you at pickup about what your child did, ate, and rested. If you want more detail, ask — they will tell you. For anything specific to your child, the director is available.

Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?

Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have, so the best next step is to ask what is available for your child. Call the center or ask during your visit, and we will tell you what your child's day would look like.

What if there is no place right now?

If your child's age group is full, you can ask to be told when a place opens. Leave your child's age and the days you need at the front desk.

What should I ask on the tour?

Ask about hours, meals, and who may pick up your child. Ask how the first weeks are handled and how teachers share news about the day. Ask to see the classroom your child would join and meet the teachers who run it.
